Finding Crispina: Explore evidence of women's authority in Early Christianity with Sr. Chris Schenk and FutureChurch

Explore the lives and roles of women in Early Christianity with expert Sr. Christine Schenk as she leads pilgrims to archaeological sites and museums in Rome and Ostia. Find evidence of their authority and leadership at Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, San Clemente Basilica, Basilica of St. Pudentiana, St. Praxedes Basilica, Catacombs of Priscilla, Catacombs of Marcellinus and Pietrus, Catacombs of Marcellinus and Pietrus, Church of Santa Sabina, the excavation beneath St. Peter’s. Find burial artifacts and other evidence of early Christian life at the Vatican Museums: Pio Clementino, Maps, Tapestries, Raphael rooms, The Sistine Chapel, Ostia. Enjoy the sites and history found at the Colosseum & Roman Forum.  After Rome, participants can also choose to travel to Naples and Pompeii to explore several archaealogical sites there showing evidence of women's leadership and authority.
