New Pioneers for a Sustainable Futureseeks a qualified and visionary leader to serve as Executive Director. Now in its 15thyear as a premiere community-based nonprofit organization, New Pioneers’ mission is to promote sustainable thinking and sustainable development in rural central Kentucky, with a focus on Washington, Marion, and Nelson counties. This is achieved by developing programs that educate, demonstrate, and advocate for ecological sustainability as it interrelates with economic, community, family and individual well-being.
Executive Director Position
The Executive Director is the key leader and manager of New Pioneers and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the strategic plan; overseeing organizational operations; safeguarding and ensuring financial and legal viability; and providing direction and resources for the governance role of the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, have the knowledge, vision and passion for bringing a sustainability agenda to rural communities, have proven relationship-building, leadership and administrative skills, demonstrate the potential to be an effective fundraiser, and be broadly computer proficient.
