Major Gifts Officer

The Major Gifts Officer will, in conjunction with congregational direction, develop and implement a major gifts fundraising strategy for the congregation.  This role encompasses all development functions including major giving, events planning and planned giving.  The Major Gifts Officer will establish a regular program of donor cultivation and contact through programs, correspondence and visits (75% travel).  Position is located in Syracuse, New York.

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree required; 3-10 years fundraising experience with extensive experience with fundraising databases and a thorough understanding of all areas of fund development; must have good technical and creative writing skills with excellent attention to detail; must posses initiative, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects and individuals; strong verbal and interpersonal communication, people organizational, management, software, computer and writing skills; must be self-motivated and able to work independently; valid driver's license; ability to travel to our various regional locations (Syracuse NY; Buffalo NY; Pittsburgh PA).
