Book Reviews: On the surface, the illuminating new biography of Eunice Shriver is pure Eunice — eccentric, brash, dismissive of convention. Also Maria Shriver's latest book, a collection of "reflections, prayers, and meditations."
Perspective: Jesuit Fr. Daniel Berrigan wrote in his autobiography: "I lost my aura; more grievously, I lost a home. Henceforth I would be a wanderer on the earth, here and there, an overnight dwelling."
Scripture for Life: In calling forth a new community in Christ, God's intention was obviously not to wipe out differences, but to manifest the multiplicity of ways in which divine love can be expressed.
Book Review: A "biography and memoir" does double duty for any single author, though, overall, there is more biography in Jim Forest's new book than memoir. Indeed, when finished I knew more about Jesuit Fr. Dan Berrigan than I did about the author.
