My heart these days is with the young people who are demonstrating for change – and real democracy – in Iran. But even if Mousavi, their candidate, ultimately prevails, there is still a looming theocracy over him, the rule of the mullahs.
tTimes like these renew my appreciation of our system, however imperfect, of “separation of religion and state.”
