National Catholic Reporter

A place of belonging
The National Catholic Reporter is first and foremost a news organization. But over time, something more has emerged:

NCR has become a place of belonging. A place of hope.

As one reader shared:

“When I’m in a meeting at church, and someone shares something they read in NCR, I make a beeline for them afterward and I say, ‘You too?’”

That sense of finding your people — those who share your values, your questions, and your hopes for the church — is at the heart of our membership community.

What membership means
NCR members are readers who believe in the mission of independent Catholic journalism and choose to sustain it through a monthly or annual gift.

But membership is more than support. It is a relationship with NCR, and with one another. NCR's value isn't only in the content it produces. It is also a rally point for like-minded Catholics. Members have the opportunity to connect and interact with each other, as well as NCR staff and writers.

What members receive

  • Weekly Insider emails from NCR staff and leadership
  • Monthly behind-the-scenes updates
  • Invitations to in-person gatherings when NCR is on the road
  • Access to virtual and in-person member gatherings and special events
  • A soon-to-launch members' online portal, where members can connect
  • Future opportunities include book discussions, watch parties, and live conversations

We are continuing to build this community—and members help shape what it becomes next.

A note for former NCR members

Some members have discontinued their membership, and instead make an annual donation to NCR. Did you know that a commitment to do so qualifies you as a member? Give Laure a call at 816.968-2265.
