Sister Jean Anne Blust

Long-time Ohio teacher, Sister Jean Anne Blust, dedicated life and career to education

[Cincinnati, OH] Sister Jean Anne Blust of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, age 90, passed away on December 26, 2023. Born Mary Cecilia Blust on October 3, 1933, Sister was educated at Notre Dame High School in Hamilton and was called to enter the Notre Dame de Namur community at the age of 17.

A certified Montessori instructor, Sister Jean Anne taught throughout Ohio, including Wyoming, Hamilton, Dayton, Logan and Cincinnati, from 1954 to 2015. In addition to decades of classroom experience, Sister was the principal of St. George Parish School in Cincinnati before it merged with other parish schools to form Corryville Catholic. Her calling to do God’s work inspired her to tirelessly fulfill the needs of generations of children and families. At the end of her career in education, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Stephen T. Badin High School, the successor school of Notre Dame High School.

Until moving to the Mount Notre Dame Health Center in 2022, Sister was a long-time member of the Vine Street community. Read the full obituary here.
