Joseph “Joe” Louvar passed away Dec. 11th, 2023. He was 88 years old. Joe was preceded in death by his wife B. Diane (Wassil), of 62 years, on June 25th 2023. Joe was born in Chicago and lived in Michigan for 45 years. His final years were in Wisconsin. He loved his family, was well-educated and accomplished, did charitable work and had a strong Catholic faith. After they married, they had a deep drive to serve others and were hired by the Catholic Extension Society in 1962 to manage St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Bethany, Oklahoma. Though the position was challenging, they cherished those years and thought often of the children. He is survived by his four children, Joyce (Gary Chester), Edmund (Susan), George (Rebecca) and Claire (Cristino Canga); eight grandchildren, Grayson, Jack, Elizabeth, Melissa, Diane, Michael, Emma and Aidan; his sister-in-law, Joyce Ryan and her children and their families; his nieces and nephews and their families. He will be deeply missed, but is now at peace with God, his wife Diane, and family members that have passed before him. Please see his full obituary here.
