Creating a Grassroots Movement to Implement Laudato Si'

Thursday, October 21, 2021
7:30 p.m. Eastern Time

This webinar hosts a conversation between Susan Varlamoff and Brian J. Savoie about the Archdiocese of Atlanta's Action Plan. Pope Francis issued Laudato Si’ in June of 2015, as a call to humanity to care for the earth and one another. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta responded by creating a plan that is now being used throughout the country by many Archdioceses. In implementing the Plan, a Georgia Catholic philanthropist provided seed funding to establish a pilot project and pay the salary of a Sustainability Coordinator. Brian Savoie, an engineer, is filling this role, and has experience working with parishes and schools to help create a culture of creation care.
