Do you have a donor-advised fund?
If you or someone you know has a donor-advised fund (DAF), your donations can have an even bigger impact through the #HalfMyDAF movement. Since 2020, the #HalfMyDAF community has awarded over $70 million in grants.
Over $250 billion sits in donor-advised funds across the country. The goal of #HalfMyDAF is to move that money to nonprofits like NCR by randomly giving away unrestricted matching grants through the Amalgamated Foundation.
If you are a DAF holder and commit to spending down half of the money that was in your DAF on January 1st by September 26, 2025, all the grants you make will be eligible for a match from #HalfMyDAF.
#HalfMyDAF will make dollar-for-dollar matches of up to $5,000 on June 27, 2025 and again on September 26, 2025, out of a pool of $2.25M in unrestricted funding—and four lucky nonprofits will get matches up to $25K.
Here’s how it works:
- A donor makes a donation through his or her DAF.
- The donor then registers this gift with the Half My DAF program.
- The organization receives the donor’s gift AND is eligible for an additional matching gift from the Amalgamated Foundation.
Every nonprofit you support through your DAF will be eligible for a match. I invite you to consider making a DAF gift to NCR during our Spring Fund Drive and register this gift with the #HalfMyDAF program. The more donors who commit to spending down at least half of theirDAF and give to NCR, the more likely we are to receive a match.
