Summary:
The Executive Director is the primary leader of Catholic Charities, responsible for overseeing all operational aspects, including governance, program development, finance, fundraising, community engagement, and staff management. Reporting to the Bishop and Board of Directors, this role requires a strong commitment to Catholic Charities' mission and values, rooted in Catholic Social Teaching principles.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to advance the organization's mission and goals.
- Oversee governance, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective board engagement.
- Develop and implement programs that address community needs and align with Catholic Charities' mission.
- Manage financial resources, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant management.
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, donors, and community partners to support organizational objectives.
- Lead and mentor staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Serve as the public face of Catholic Charities, representing the organization in the community and advocating for social justice.
Qualifications:
- Must be practicing Catholic in good standing with the church.
- Advanced degree in social work, human services, public administration, business, or a related field is required; or equivalent education and experience may also be considered.
- 10+ years’ experience in nonprofit leadership, with a proven track record of strategic planning and organizational management.
- Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and a commitment to Catholic values.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Financial acumen, including budget management and fundraising experience.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex challenges.
