How did the debate on when life starts go in Canada?

Here is a follow up to last week's blog post, "Debate continues on Canadian motion to define when life begins."

A CBC news story summarizes the one-hour debate that took place in Parliament on Friday. Statements made by parliamentarians show the inherent difficulty of simply discussing the legal question of when life begins without reopening the debate on abortion. A vote is scheduled for Wednesday, with little chance of Motion 312 being accepted.
