Joryán Hernández is a scholar-practitioner pursuing a Ph.D. in peace studies and theology at the University of Notre Dame. His research entails how religious actors can help alleviate the traumas of displacement and present theologies of hope in and for Latine immigrant communities, focusing on the Cuban diaspora. 

Emily Claire Schmitt is a playwright, screenwriter and freelance journalist. She has written for FemCatholic, America magazine and Patheos. TV writing credits include "Raise a Glass to Love" and "Beverly Hills Wedding," both on the Hallmark Channel.
