In this morning's Washington Post, Robert Kagan of the Brookings Institution sees incipient fascism in the rise of Donald Trump. I am not prepared to go that far, but Kagan makes a convincing case.

At the Catholic Thing, Fr. Gerry Murray of the Archdiocese of New York explains why he believes Pope Francis should withdraw Amoris Laetitia. Hmmmm. Exhortations are not the only thing that can be withdrawn; so can priestly faculties! Cardinal Dolan: Call your office.

This morning I wrote about the bipartisan compromise on Puerto Rico. One of the few other bipartisan efforts right now focuses on reforming the criminal justice system. But, Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas doesn't want to hear about it. He thinks America suffers from "under-incarceration" rates. The junior senator from Arkansas once again shows just how crazy you can be and still win election in an off year in a red state. Politico has the story.
