Kudos to Bishop Patrick McGrath of San Jose, California, for clarifying that in his diocese, families that present themselves for a funeral in good faith are to be given a funeral. As a sign of how the Francis Revolution is taking hold, I will venture the prediction that we will see more bishops follow McGrath's example than Paprocki's. 

At the Washington Post, President Trump's poll numbers among Independents tank and at the Wisconsin State Journal his numbers are plummeting in a state that helped put him over the top. At a time when he needs to be able to whip key senators if he wants to pass the health care bill, this doesn't help. 

At the New York Daily News, the AFL-CIO is launching an ad campaign in key red states opposing the health care overhaul.

And speaking of labor, from the Vatican website, the text of an address the Holy Father gave to a delegation of trade unionists. This text got lost what with the General Audience and Consistory the same day, and then the big news about Cardinal Pell. I shall have more to say about it next week.
