David Lantigua, the son of immigrants from Latin America, is an associate professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame, where he is also the co-director of the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism. He is author of Infidels and Empires in a New World World Order: Early Modern Spanish Contributions to International Legal Thought. Lantigua is currently writing a manuscript on the theological and social legacy of Pope Francis in the 21st century.
