Yolanda Chávez
Yolanda Chávez-Velázquez, DMin, is a Catholic theologian, award-winning writer and pastoral leader specializing in migratory theology, embodied spirituality and the experiences of migrant women. Drawing on more than 20 years of pastoral formation and accompaniment in Hispanic communities, her work explores displacement, belonging and the theological wisdom emerging from migrant lives. She earned her Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary and currently continues her research, writing and formation ministry from Mexico. Her essay "The Gospel from Exile: A Deported Migrant’s Story" received first place for Best Immigration Coverage at the 2026 Catholic Media Association Awards.
