Hiroshima and Nagasaki Observance in Des Moines Tuesday, Aug. 9

What: This year’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki​ Observance will take place again at the Japanese Bell on the Iowa Capitol grounds.

When:  Tuesday, Aug. 9, 7:00 pm

Where:  Japanese Bell on the Iowa Capitol grounds –just west of the Iowa State Supreme Court building. Parking is in the parking lot of the Iowa Judicial building on the south side of Court Ave. The bell is west of that building.

The rain site will be Wesley United Methodist, 800 E. 12th St.

More:  Mayor Frank Cownie will speak, among other parts of the service.  

Please bring lawn chairs for your comfort during the observance, and flowers from a garden for laying at the Japanese Bell.
