Presbyterians won't divest in Israel
The Huffington Post is reporting that Presbyterians Reject Divestment Related To Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Members of the largest U.S. Presbyterian denomination rejected a controversial proposal Thursday night to divest millions of dollars of investments in companies that many members have said are profiting from death and destruction in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Members of the 1.9-million member Presbyterian Church (USA) instead voted to pursue "positive investment" in the region through companies and efforts they said would promote peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
