We must always remember the suffering of each person

The New York Times ran a commentary -- really a phone monologue -- from a Guantanamo prisoner a couple of weeks ago.

In our frenzied focus on the Boston Marathon bombing on top of wars and gun violence, it is easy to turn minds from the sorrow and suffering of a single man. It is hard to bear the burden of testimony to our own hard hearts.

Support independent reporting on important issues.
