NCR has walked with women religious since our first edition in 1964. We are proud of a long and fruitful association. We recognize women religious communities, often laboring at the margins of society, face special challenges. No other segment of our church, responding to the call of gospels and the Second Vatican Council, has worked more diligently on behalf of the poor -- often with inadequate recognition.

The stories that will appear on these pages are intended to rectify this oversight.

In reporting the work of women religious, mostly but not exclusively in the developing countries (and struggling communities of our own nation), we hope to offer support, encouragement and bridges of understanding. Please come here regularly and witness communities - and a church coming to life anew.
